The holidays are midweek tours based on four nights accommodation, starting Monday morning and finishing Friday afternoon (see tour itinerary for details) You'll be staying in a traditional country inn set in the stunning scenery of the Peak District, a glorious location that few other counties in England can boast.
With regard to the birds, if you are looking for a Bird Watching holiday in the UK that is about rushing around ticking as many birds as you can in a week then our holidays are not for you. If however you are looking for a holiday experience where:

The holidays are absolutely ideal for people who are new to watching birds and if you've never been to the Peak District then you're in for an absolute treat. Our aim is to inspire those people to want to carry on watching birds and grow their love and appreciation of Birds, whether that be in your garden or getting involved further in wildlife and conservation. The holidays are also great for those who want to improve their skills with tuition along the way. We also welcome experts as their experience will be great for sharing with the group and in helping find any rareties. The Peak District is the most southerly part of England where you will find many of the Upland breeding Birds such as Red Grouse, Dipper and Ring Ouzel, amongst many others. It has a range of different habitats that attract many different species at different times of the year. The Derbyshire bird list stands at over 300 species and is an excellent place to watch birds. The emphasis on our holidays is on soaking up the scenery and enjoying the journey, not just racing to a destination. The days will consist of leisurely walks of around 2 – 3 miles, with a maximum of eight people, you will have use of at least one high quality scope for great close up views to really enhance your enjoyment of the birds, both the common and the less common. At all times we will follow the Bird Watchers Code of Practise so all birds are observed in a responsible yet thoroughly enjoyable way. Kevin Overton will lead the tours and we will be accompanied by an expert local guide at the venues, so you will have the best possible chance of getting great Bird Watching experiences. Although it's not exactly one to one tuition, it does mean everyone gets individual attention in a relaxed informal atmosphere and you're not treated as just a group. We also run optional evening wildlife walks where we may look out for mammals such as badgers and foxes, a Bat walk or maybe trapping moths, just let us know what interests you and we will try to accommodate.
